University of Aberdeen Writers Festival 2008
Welcome to WORD 2008
Another year, another WORD Festival, and once again we’ve got a fantastic line-up and an even more varied programme of events. There’s a strong Scottish and Irish core to it this year, with Welsh and English contributions and writers from Australia and New Zealand. As always, Gaelic and Doric feature strongly, and there’s a tribute to a great Bengali poet and philosopher, Sri Chinmoy. It’s the range that's impressive – alongside themore literary events there are art exhibitions, filmscreenings, word and music events and a theatre production. Hardeep Singh Kohli shares his wit and wisdom, Mark Millar leads us into the world of comic books and A-list Hollywood stars, Willie Miller celebrates the 25th anniversary of Aberdeen’s European triumph, and King Creosote talks and rocks.
